As perhaps the more astute of you have already gathered, the famed publication Midnight Haberdashery is once more in irregular circulation. The trial forcing our sorrowful sabbatical has been resolved. Fines have been paid and the children have been buried.

To celebrate the triumphant return we have been gifted with an exclusive excerpt of Midnight Haberdashery friend Dr. Chancey Squires’ newest literary masterpiece Brief Glimpses into the Lives of the Unknown. Within this excerpt Dr. Squires even happens to mention the actual haberdashery Midnight Haberdashery, a business named in tribute of this very publication by my fifth wife Hortensia.

One may notice a slight decline in the quality of the article’s formatting. Due to the aforementioned trial the Midnight Haberdashery is now required to print using ink gathered entirely by legal means. I assure you, friends, the lower classes working our printing-press are diligently working on ironing out all such aesthetic kinks, and unless they suddenly become immune to the caress of whips and crops, I’m confident they will eliminate the problem before future publications.

Attention friends,

There has been a slight delay in the return of your beloved Midnight Haberdashery. A chain-rattling ghast was spotted in the billiard room of Handshaker Manor, and all official business must be put to the side until we can deduce whether or not the spook is, in fact, Burgomeister Goldfellow, a long departed shut-in from a wing of the Handshaker lineage that is rarely spoken about in volumes above a whisper.

I expect the Midnight Haberdashery to be up and running once more before the new year at which time we will welcome a long-distance (an entire county to the east) correspondance to the fold.

Due to a fire at the warehouse containing the printing presses for the Neo-Aristocratic Misanthrope Society and the sub-sequential infestation of wild deer at Handshaker Manor, the Midnight Haberdashery will be temporarily closed until the 15th of December. Immediately upon re-opening the Midnight Haberdashery will close again in observation of cabalistic holiday rituals until the 20th of December, upon which the Midnight Haberdashery will open (again) in its new location.

The internetical web summoning phrase (http://midnight-haberdashery.tumblr.com/) will still work, although the new location will have to be “followed” anew. I will notify you with more details on the 20th.
